Anthony S. “Tony” Nieves is a highly regarded hospitality and supply-management executive with decades of experience spanning hotel operations, foodservice management, strategic procurement, wholesale distribution, supply-chain management, healthcare services, and other multi-site service businesses.

Today, Nieves serves as a Managing Member of ProcurLogic, a strategic supply and economic management firm serving the hospitality and broader services sector. ProcurLogic helps organizations identify and realize savings, improve operational efficiencies, strengthen supplier relationships and optimize procurement and supply-chain performance.

A Career Built Inside Hospitality

Nieves spent 27 years with Hilton Hotels Corporation, progressing from property-level purchasing positions to senior corporate leadership and ultimately serving as Chief Procurement Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Supply Management for Hilton Worldwide.

At Hilton, he was responsible for end-to-end supply-management services and solutions across the Hilton portfolio. He integrated previously separate supply-management activities into a consolidated discipline and helped reposition and rename the discipline - Hilton Supply Management (HSM) to better reflect its strategic responsibilities and deliver greater value to Hilton's hotels and the company.

This experience gave Nieves an unusual perspective: he understands procurement not simply as a sourcing function, but as an operating discipline that must ultimately improve the economics of the business while supporting the needs of individual properties.

Beyond Procurement

Nieves subsequently expanded his experience beyond traditional hospitality procurement. He served as Chief Executive Officer and Administrator of Five Star Home Health, gaining direct operating and executive-management experience outside the hospitality industry. He later served as Head of Procurement for Oasis Experiences, where he developed and implemented an integrated supply-chain strategy supporting a diversified portfolio that included marinas, RV parks and food-and-beverage operations.

These experiences reinforced a central philosophy that continues to influence his work today:

Procurement should not simply produce negotiated savings; it should produce measurable business results.

Global Supply-Management Leadership

Nieves has also played a significant role in the broader supply-management profession.

He served six years on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), including as Board Chair, and served for many years as Chair of the ISM Services Business Survey Committee. From the first public release of the Services PMI in January 2008 until his retirement from the committee in 2024, Nieves was the principal public voice explaining the monthly Services ISM Report On Business and its implications for the U.S. services economy.

His expertise placed him at the intersection of procurement, supply chains, business conditions and the broader economy. He regularly interpreted trends involving demand, employment, supplier deliveries, prices, inventories, capacity and other indicators affecting service-sector businesses.

Recognition and Professional Leadership

In 2010, Nieves received the J. Shipman Gold Medal Award, the highest honor conferred by the Institute for Supply Management for professional achievement and contribution to the supply-management profession.

He has also served in leadership roles with The Conference Board's Purchasing and Supply Leadership Council, the National Restaurant Association's Purchasing Manager's Executive Study Group and the Center for Advanced Procurement and Supply Research (CAPS Research). He holds the professional designations Certified Professional in Supply Management CPSM, Certified Purchasing Manager C.P.M., Accredited Purchasing Practitioner A.P.P. and Certified Foodservice Purchasing Manager CFPM and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University.
